About the Writer(s) and the Songs:

Shelter was originally written during Hurricane Andrew (Labor Day weekend, 1993) when fellow musicians David and Debbie Chelimsky and I were holed up in a relative's apartment in southeast Florida.  The effects of such devastation, especially on those most vulnerable, including animals, were felt again and even more strongly when hurricanes Katrina and Rita desecrated the Gulf region of our nation in September of 2005.  Similar disasters and more common yet equally unfortunate cases of abuse, neglect and overpopulation continue to cause pain and suffering to our animal friends.

I currently reside in the Atlanta area and in addition to being a professional musician, I am active in animal welfare including work with Dogs Deserve Better, a national anti-chaining organization.  It was after going to Gulfport, Mississippi, working in conjunction with members of the Humane Society of the United States and the ASPCA to help animal hurricane victims in '05, that I felt moved to 'resurrect' and add to the song begun in '93.

The version of "Shelter" that you have before you is the result of those efforts.  I hope you enjoy it and if you feel so moved to purchase additional copies of this song (currently at $5.00 + $1.00 s/h) please know that receipts will be provided and that the proceeds will go to support this and other animal related projects.

For ordering, booking or contact, please do so via puppymama@comcast.net or call (404) 234-0420 and...Thank You!

I Am Unseen was written by Rocky Shepheard exclusively for Dogs Deserve Better. Heidi Pollyea, Georgia rep, lent her voice talents, and I'm truly in awe of their abilities. I am still touched by it, and cry many times when I watch it. (It is not gruesome, just touching...and real.)

Here it is, it's a bit of a long load...may not work well for dialup modems, but for those with cable modems, enjoy, pass along. Let's hope it helps us kick off Chain Off 2006 with a bang!
